River Safety - Stay safe while enjoying the Ichetucknee River!
The Ichetucknee River is a natural and wild river. Many kinds of wildlife inhabit the river including snakes and alligators, but they rarely venture into the highly trafficked areas of the spring and park.
Children should be accompanied by an adult at all times. If you are visiting the springs with family or a large group, you should stay together at all times so you don't get separated.
There are no lifeguards on duty at the Ichetucknee River, so all activities are done at your own risk.
As with all water activities, children and non-swimmers should wear a life jacket at all times when tubing, swimming, canoeing, or kayaking.
The spring is surrounded by a beautiful hardwood canopy, but climbing the trees on the river banks is prohibited for safety reasons, and also to protect the plant life.
